I have seen many examples of this during my career in several areas of the appliance field. Much of my work has dealt with transmitting ideas about products directly to the appliance manufacturers and in helping consumers obtain better service and more usefulness from their home appliances. In a very real sense, I worked for the consumer. Appliance engineers always listen to what's being said about their products. If it's positive, this is their reward for a job well done. If not, they want to know so they can develop a better component. I've had the experience of having novice appliance repair technicians point out some sing that those of us who have been involved for years had not noticed.
